If you have no time to exercise- Do this!
If you have no time to exercise- Do this!
The biggest obstacle to achieving your health and fitness goals is consistency.
The best program is the one you are going to stick to. Do you agree?
Most people fail to achieve their goals because they bite off more than they can chew.
Most people are motivated to do the 12-week transformation program or kick start their new years resolutions but once that motivation dies down people struggle and they don’t have much to work with.
Instead of looking for motivation you need to build habits. If we built habits then eventually it becomes discipline. This discipline will allow you to have this long-term consistency, meaning you are going take control of your movement practice no matter how you are feeling, the way you slept, what you have going on that day.
Another reason people don’t achieve their goals is they treat the movement as a chore or a bore. People treat their movement practice like they have to do it at 5pm every day or a set time. This is not unsustainable for most people. It might be sustainable for a period of time then life gets in the way. You need to travel, you get sick, you need to look after the kids, work gets busy and then your routine goes out the window.
How do we make things easier, optimise our environment and how to make sure that nothing gets in the way of your movement practice?
How to do we make movement a daily practice and part of our lifestyle every single day no matter what happens?
If you make movement a top priority without stress, without having anxiety to do something, you are going to love doing this. You will wake up excited to move your body as it is just apart of normal existence like brushing your teeth, like sleeping and breathing.
Start with making movement apart of your everyday life:
You need to integrate movement into anything and everything that you do.
Movement should be integrated into your life: instead of sitting you are going to squat. Squat while your scrolling, while you are watching TV, reading, this alone is integrating movement into your daily routine without even noticing.
Optimise your environment by placing a pull up bar in a door frame, you can free up some space in your house to practice movement, you can have some resistance bands handy as well.
Set a timer to get up every hour when you are working and move for 1-2 minutes- squat down, walk around, do a couple of stretches then get back to work.
Take public transport get off a stop or two before your destination and walk the rest of the way, ride your bike, take the stairs instead of the elevator, have a go at cleaning the house, all of these activities incorporate movement into your day. You are going to be more intentionally active throughout your day.
Incidental activity is the best way to get your body moving!
